Hello. Really old thread this, BuT, what does anyone think to running a pair of 14s with a Quad 405. I ask, as I fancy a pair due to all.the great things I've heard such as in this thread, and that's what I've got for an amp, currently.

Hello! Old thread I know, but I’m very interested in buying a pair of these, but they’re at the other end of the country so would be buying without audition. I’m Thinking that anything Celef will sound great, especially these higher end ones, but if you have any info on what these sound like...

Thanks!! I actually had since found him and ordered a couple. He just had some goodmans ones pre made, so I’ve just gone with them to see how they are. They’re not the same design as the originals for my speakers though, and flash instead of relief, and the sticky on type rather than screwed...

Hello. Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately, later that day after I posted, I went on a bike ride and had a fall, from which I’m recovering from with a broken collar bone and mild concussion. I’ll be back to further converge once I’m a bit more compus mentus. Dave

As I heard someone rise put it, it sounds like a dentist's drill! I'm wondering how much I need to spend before I stop hearing it! Is it still the case that a digital setup that gets close to analogue costs thousands?

Thanks David. That’s interesting to know. I don’t play at particularly high volumes, at least, I don’t seem to have issue with excessive cone movement. Those look like interesting speakers you’ve got there.

It’s fairly old by now, it’s a Beresford Caimen TC7520SE. Maybe it’s age is the issue?

Hi. I was wondering if any of you had forked out on the remakes from falcon to replace your old b139s and if you noticed any sonic improvement? I'd have thought due to the surround perhaps stiffening over time on the originals, there could be better low end extension, speed, detail, etc...

I was using a good quality third party one. I just received today the apple one I ordered off the back of your suggestion, but it also doesn’t work.

No error message. Just the iPad keeps playing audio out its own speakers. The dac has its own power supply.

My 2018 iPad pro won't put signal to my DAC via a usb cable with usbA to C adapter dongle, whereas my android phone works without issue. Is this because perhaps the DAC is not usb 2.0? Is there some driver or app known to any of you to overcome my issue? Thanks in advance.

Steering things back to the original thread of this thread, it dawned on me that the Mission 770s might be a fairly similar sounding speaker to these Tannoy Jupiter Mk2s of mine. I’ve not yet heard them as I bought them as tweeters not working and they’ve been awaiting a repair for a bit too...
