What Kier has publicly stated makes him out to be a waste of space.
He's suggested nothing of note that I've read.
I'm hoping that Kier is doing a "boris", i.e. lie about what he'll do, then do something completely different.
In Kier's terms my hope is that he'll STOP offshoring of money to the...
Can the amp you’re building operate in balanced mode? If not, it’s a bit pointless adding XLR connections.
If the amp can operate in balanced mode, it wouldn’t seem unreasonable of him to ask to have it wired to genuinely support that mode, as long as he’s happy to pay for any required...
I have GIK bass traps. They do NOT stop bass nodes in a room.
DEQ is my solution.
The only other really viable options are a different room, or speakers that don’t go low enough to set off the peak node.
My current belief is that the implementation is more important than the silicon chip. By that I mean how the chip is used, PSUs, analogue output stage etc.
That’s how I’ve ended up with a 15 year old Meridian AV processor as my preferred streamer/DAC/pre-amp.
Things that I believe have helped...
Out of prudence, take some good books and find a location with other things to do in case it doesn’t work.
I damaged my knees playing football in my 20s. 20 years later I was taken on a skiing weekend in Switzerland, By the end of day 1 I was in real pain. Day 2 I suited up, went to the...
I had a listen to a pair at a show a decade or so back.
They’re a good deal more efficient than say H2s. Unfortunately I didn’t think that they were as cohesive across the frequency range. Being fair, I thought the same about the Avant-garde horns.
The newer Icepower BCs provided great “hifi” but left me a bit cold. I preferred the older Tripath solution.
What I can happily state is that the big solid state BAT that I now have sounds fabulous with them
I've owned both a QSP and Artera stereo power and really liked both.
Within my system, IMO they were better than any amp I've heard with my speakers prior to the current BAT.
Agreed, though there are degrees of complexity. For example, it’s still possible to buy a non turbo, fwd, auto, petrol.
Do that and you avoid turbos, dual mass flywheels, DPFs, multiple diffs etc, all of which are areas of opportunity on some cars.
