Yeah, but the price difference. Dull and boring? The Planar 2 was a bit soft sounding compared to the 3, which was fine with typical bright budget amps and speakers, but the Arcams were not. They were dull, soft and un-dynamic.

I'd say that was just snobbery as Diamonds sounded very tidy in the end of a decent amp and source. The Royd A7 was another cheap little box that sounded far better than the price would suggest. Buying these little guys was not lack of taste but shrewd thinking.

The Aro was a very popular arm on the LP12. Was it hard to cue? Yeah, it was, but it was still popular.

There is another saying that not all saying said by people are wise.

It has a warmer, fuller sound than the standard Linn or Rega mat with more body and tone. Rega turntables are on the lean side so I think this might be a good thing. I thought it sounded impressive on the LP12 for the above reasons but I found that I wasn't getting into the groove as well.
