In my experience if you have truly balanced designed equipment then balanced cable is the way to go. I had my preamp and power amps connected through quality RCA cable. When I realised that I actually had balanced equipment (as opposed to equipment with XLR sockets) I experimented connecting...

No hadn’t compared. However I did have the Audioquest Diamond USB for a while as comparison. I decided to keep the Oyaide, not because I felt it was better but certainly on par at a much lower cost.
