    Chord Qutest question ...

Incorrect on multiple fronts: 1) can you name a manufacturer who puts all their work in the public domain? I don‘t care whether the filter is secret and/or orthodox. How does it sound? I like it. I buy it. I am happy. 2) as has been observed above, many who swap the wallwart out cannot...

    Chord Qutest question ...

Same here. The theory is that the M-Scalar makes the TT2 sound more realistic whilst it’s essential for the Dave. The detail and smoothness of the Dave is impressive but I’ve never found it that engaging. More hifi and less music. Goes very well with Chord amps, for which I have no taste i.e...

    Chord Qutest question ...

And reading reviews before a demo that was pretty much what I was hoping for. My ageing ears finally got through to me that I needed a more relaxed sound and it seemed to fit the bill. In practice though that was not what any of us heard. I could have done with it delivering what I hoped as it...

    Chord Qutest question ...

Pointless overthinking at this stage. Insert Qutest with standard power supply and listen. Do you like the sound? If not, and no sound is for everybody, then you can improve certain elements of it but you likely won’t be able to change the fundamental nature of the beast and a lot of this is not...

New Mark Knopfler album coming soon

Summarises his entire solo output for me. I do like the fact that on the album promo materials he sits there dressed like a plumber awaiting the home delivery of his Greggs lunch. Nicely captures the routine workaday nature of his oeuvre.

This is going to divide opinion!

Both parts look like they ought to be inserted into an empty slot on the dashboard.

    Streaming: Qobuz, DLNA, UPnP etc

Potential damage aside, the sound was the thing I picked up on. Fabulous as a DAC and a pre and also as a headphone amp but never intended to power speakers and not optimised to do so. Exactly why I want to hear it with valve integrateds or power amps as synergy can fox many ills.

Tony alerted me to your post whilst I was adding to the English Acoustics thread. My understanding, direct from Chord posting on another forum or several, is that they no longer recommend going direct from the TT2 to speakers. There was some reluctance to detail why but my understanding was that...

    English Acoustic 21c review

Hi @Tony L the plan is to have the Chord in pre mode not so the Chord will be driving the speakers but the valve power or integrated will be i.e. Innuos to Chord DAC in pre mode to, for example, English Acoustics 21c or Feliks Arioso 300B into the Zu. I am aware that the Chord could, by...

    English Acoustic 21c review

So, I have concluded that my Zu really need valves. Will be demoing the 21c and 41c. In the process of hopefully arranging to hear a Feliks Audio Ariosio 300B. I’m looking for one more on my shortlist. Suggestions welcome. Criteria are as follows: Downsizing to one column of Hutter rather...

    English Acoustics

I will be auditioning the 21c and 41c early in May. Very much looking forward to it albeit that it’s one of a short shortlist. I will be pairing my final choice with a Chord Hugo TT2 in pre mode but very jealous you have an ampsandsound pre there. We don’t get to hear them in the UK and in other...

Flexible and home working and custom and practice

Reduction in office occupation in many UK cities and towns has had a well documented impact on the local economy; rents etc. It has not however led to the kind of economic collapse that people who believe that work = presenteeism believed. Weirdly people working at home do indeed cost less and...

Not a straw man at all. I am also talking wholly about internal culture and ideology and detailing that in my line of work why it matters is that you can have an entire advice work career within Citizens Advice advice; come across a specific scenario and know what your next steps are. Faced with...
