"Portable" (but not really) options for the garden...

I find the Dali Katch to have an extremely pleasant and engaging sound.

    TD 124 II Motor Removal

Best of luck! It's a shame humans aren't as simple to repair as turntables! I received mine with an SME 3012 II, and a frozen motor. I've never replaced the idler, just a gentle cleaning with rubber renew once in a while. I haven't touched the Thorens since I got a Rega Planar 6 a couple years...

    TD 124 II Motor Removal

When I acquired mine 30 years ago, the motor shaft was frozen. I took it apart in situ, and cleaned and lubricated the bearings. Since this was pre internet, no instructions were available. This is a fairly obvious and straightforward process, just dig in and you'll be up and running before you...

    What's your WTF hifi moment

Those Fyne speakers are awesome, particularly the 15" model. I haven't heard all the models, but liked all that I heard. My WTF moment happened when I listened to the amplifier section of a 1980s CLOUD Discomaster DJ setup, through proper hifi speakers. That MOSFET amplifier just sounds...

Speaker phase plugs not part of the cone - replaceable?

This depends on the speaker itself. Lowther speakers for example have phase plugs which screw into the pole piece, and can be easily replaced. A fairly substantial aftermarket exists for Lowther phase plugs. EPOS phase plugs on the other hand are plastic, and glued into a hole in the pole piece...

Naim Uniti - Screen replacement and Streaming Board upgrade

I used the eBay screen to revitalize my Uniti2, and am extremely happy with the result. Installation was straightforward, although it does require a bit of disassembly.

The Rega P6 is a terrific turntable - hiding in plain sight

The io really sounds better than the UnitiQute2? I'm a bit surprised by that. I have a P6 too, it's a great machine.

    EPOS ES14 chat.

I've got a pair of the slightly later EPOS M15. No cult following, but they're possibly my favorite of all the speakers I've owned.

I cannot say I'm convinced he's centered the voice coil accurately in the gap, without any sort of jig or measurement.

    NAIM UNITI2 SERVICE

I recently acquired a Uniti2, with a dead display. I found a replacement display on eBay, installed it, and I'm loving it. Enough so that I've walked away from tube amplifiers, and maintenance... or so I thought! Being new to NAIM, I was a little surprised by all the talk on the NAIM forum...

    Old Vs New LS3/5as

I'm presently using a pair of the Audiospace LS3/5A, which are supposedly accurate replicas of the original, and they sure have an ability to make anything I listen to sound good. I haven't heard originals but have heard the LS3/5A "inspired" speakers from Spendor or Harbeth, and although I...

Rega Planar 6 with Nagaoka MP-200

Thanks, that took care of it perfectly. The cue mechanism works as expected now. Still wonder a bit about all the talk online about spacers, but I sure cannot complain about the sound!

Rega Planar 6 with Nagaoka MP-200

Per subject, I have a Planar 6 with a Nagaoka MP-200. The cue lever seems to lift the cartridge not as high off the record as I'd expect. Sound is excellent. I'm considering ordering one or more spacers to raise the arm a bit. Would appreciate advice about how many spacers to add, and of what...

Tube Technology Synergy DMA Service Info?

I've got one of these beautiful amplifiers in for repair. Email to the address on their website bounces, so I thought I'd try my luck with a UK based forum. Does anyone know a good source for a schematic diagram or other service info? Thank you and best regards

    Wharfedale Sand Filled Baffle SFB/3

This speaker is absolutely beautiful, I wish you luck restoring it. To remove all that dust, I find a can of compressed air like you can buy to dust off PC keyboards, in combination with a very soft artist's brush to be the least harmful approach. Just use the brush to loosen it and blow it...
