Will you please include me in email updates too. I'm sure all sponsors who don't want anything to do with FB are more interested in what you have to say than the general chat.
Thanks, Martin

John, thanks for the quick reply. I'm sorry I didn't come back straight away but I couldn't get my head round your reply.
Are you saying that MDAC2 will only be available in the basic twin ESS9028Pro version with optional streamer, or will it be available with discrete & DDA versions but...
A while ago JohnW said "So the discrete DAC has the better "DAC" section, while the DDA has the better analogue stage.... I suspect there sound signature will appeal to different people."
I don't understand the fine details of how DACs work, but if the discrete version has a better DAC section...

I am also having problems getting my head around this. I want the best sound even if it's not the best in terms of SNR etc, so expect to go for the discrete version. However, at the moment all my listening is from CDs using Coax with optical clock-lock. I will look into using SSD even...

I had no problem with vinyl as you can hold it and place it on the turntable without touching the playing surface. You can also with CDs loading onto a tray, but not so easy with a slot loader. I'm still playing 30 year old CDs that look brand new. Would they last so well in a...
John, thank you for your reply. It helps to clarify things. I assume that the extra internal screening option and various other options will get sorted out just before you start ordering things, as I cant see anywhere to pay for it now. Do you want us to start paying the £280 FDAC now...

Thank you for your reply. It will be interesting to hear what John thinks of the MDAC PS upgrade that others have been so impressed by. It does show how we need to let electronics burn in before we can properly assess it. All of my mains cables and interconnects came from Russ...
I am only using my MDAC for CD playback. I didn’t want the CD drive on the FDAC, but I’m now happy to accept it if it helps to standardise the case and particularly after the latest front panel rendering.
After all the recent discussions about improving power supply to MDAC, will the FDAC’s...
I totally agree with Brian (except the bit about running without its chassis - not sure about that). There doesnt seem to be anything in the wide chassis for me except the HQ power supply. I love my MDAC. I only use it for CDs from my Meridian 200 transport, and would not want a slot loader...
John
It's very interesting to read all this technical stuff although most of it is way over my head. Like everyone here I'm really looking forward to the improvements you'll make to an already fantastic DAC.
Can you please confirm that L2 will include ClockLock? The last table of MDAC2...
