Thanks @jaz9706 for a great set of Tellurium Q black cables, sound great with my old Monitor audio 700 PMCs, look forward to hearing them with the LS50s later in the week
Thanks Stuart, took your advice and I did indeed get a very quick reply from Mike Creek himself! He advised that it could be oxidation on the MM/MC switch so try pressing a few times to see if this clears the problem. And it did! The phono stage is back to sounding as good as it ever did...
Thanks for the replies, much appreciated! sounds like a repair is feasible, just need to find a repairer so if any fishies have suggestions please let me know
Hi Everyone,
I have a creek obh-15 mk2 phono stage which has been in my second system for a few years. It has now started to provide low or no output on its right channel. Is it worth trying to find someone to fix it (suggestions very welcome) or is it time to consign to the waste electricals...
Just traded in my Denon Pma1520ae for a Rega Elicit-r. Denon was a very nice amp but didn’t work brilliantly with KEF LS50s, I ended up using a 20yr old pair of Monitor Audio gold PMC700 stand mounts which sounded better. The Elicit-r is much better with the Kefs although it’s taken a bit of...
I have an Innuos zen mini mk3 connected to an Audiolab MDac plus by coaxial cable and it sounds every bit as good as the Arcam CDS27 I have running through a Rega Elicit-r. I always thought the Arcam CDS27 was a very good CD player but the Innuos and MDac combo matches it
Mine would be the Pioneer PD-S703, upside down disc platter, ran flawlessly for 20 odd years until it started skipping tracks. Replaced with Arcam CDS27 which needed repair after just 2 years although it was done under warranty and sounds great so shouldn’t complain!
I found my A19 really struggled with KEF LS50s, sounded very laid back and lacking any punch, I swopped the amp for a Denon PMA1520ae and there was a very noticeable improvement with the LS50s, I think the Arcam A19 just didn’t have enough power to drive them
Audiolab m-Dac plus, works great with my Innuos zen mini mk3, worthwhile upgrade over the built-in DAC! Now wondering if I should think about upgrading my amp…….
I’ve had the Audiolab M-Dac PLUS in place for less than 24hrs but have to say it already seems like a huge upgrade on the Innuos internal DAC, connected using the coaxial input to the Zen, it sounds more detailed, better soundstaging and vocals are just brilliant - perhaps it will wear off or...
Similar experience to James, I bought a project vc-e a few months ago and have only cleaned 20-30 records, all look like new, some sound much better others less so but they might need another clean. Don’t know if the project supplied cleaning fluid is the best option for the more difficult jobs...
Thanks Gremlin for the test with the LPSU. I’m going to try the DAC route first and see what that gives in terms of performance, managed to get a great deal on an Audiolab M-Dac plus so I’ll see how that goes with the Zen.it’s been really useful to hear everyone’s experience with the zen mini...
