    Motion security cameras

Tapo C325WB are good for a low price. Large sensor size which is good. Top model Dahua or Hikvision professional cameras are of course better but cost many times the price...

Smart meters......oh dear oh dear...why on earth did I bother!

With Octopus the default is a smart meter reading every 30 minutes for Electricity and Gas which is how they can offer the various smart and EV tariffs that change prices half hourly throughout the day. Live usage display is possible for free in the Octopus app if you the customer requests an...

    City Fibre

Many of these newer fibre suppliers use CGNAT which may be the problem with shared IP addresses. Some of these providers allow a fixed IP for small extra fee, sometimes £5 or £8 month. If you are doing something crucial then a fixed IP just for you might be a good option. These kind of threads...

    City Fibre

It will be fine and a bargain. Taking into account the £100 amazon voucher that will be equivalent of £19.44 per month, bargain. I would sign up for that today if I could. I am stuck with Kcom as only real fibre provider here at £65 month for 500/250 https://www.toob.co.uk/...

    Cheap/reliable/small B&W laser printer recs

The 2370DN are really good, plug into router/switch and it will just work from everything, even old macs will find it on the network. Less hassle than a wi-fi printer that may or may not work.

Important: Notification emails may not be working

Removing the email content has improved the spamassasin spam score from 90 to 40, much better without the images or links. Still needs those DKIM and DMARC records removing and then fixing later when someone can do it.

Important: Notification emails may not be working

Some spamassasin information from an email just received. ( I have a really slack policy on the receiving email address to allow stuff to arrive) 0.0 SPF_HELO_NONE SPF: HELO does not publish an SPF Record 1.5 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message 0.0 KAM_SHORT...

Important: Notification emails may not be working

I think you would be better to delete the DKIM and DMARC records if they are incorrect and just have correctly set SPF records until you get the email SMTP sending resolved. A faulty DKIM and DMARC is worse than none. Good luck as this kind of problem is tedious. -

New broadband set up advice required

Make a note of your IPV4 IP address and check that at https://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check Also power down the ONT, reboot it and see if you get a new ip address. Could be an error with ISP or someone on the same IP address at a different house has caused it to be blocked. Consider...

    Belfast Recommendations

Benedicts. The bar downstairs can be a bit lively on a weekend, restaurant upstairs is good and nice rooms and the interior of the building is really good. Guinness is also good here as they serve a lot of it. https://www.benedictshotel.co.uk/

    Retirement car maths

Keep it if the wife likes it and you know the cars history. A new one might be a worse car with too many automatic safety features. Find a good independent VW garage rather than the main dealer and change the oil twice as often as VW suggest and it will be OK for at least 150K miles or 200K...

    New RAM memory for laptop

Buy another 4gb of second-hand DDR3 ram for about £5 + post. Take the back off the laptop and see what speed is in there and buy another the same or buy two the same spec. 8GB total will be better than 4GB in my experience. https://uk.webuy.com/search?stext=ddr3 204 pin
