Don't listen to the naysayers. It's a great publication, and despite it's conservative audience (judging from the adverts), I've never had the sense that it is anything other than balanced. Have subscribed for years and wish the same existed here in Germany.

Chapter3 of The Right Stuff is simply wonderful. Will reread again tonight in tribute.

Have you tried using foobar to play your DSD files? Plays them perfectly and can re-sample to FLAC on the fly, should you want. It's also free and has loads of settings, should you be a tinkerer.

I'm afraid there's probably very little you can do if the piano sounds unpleasant, that is assuming it's been tuned and prepared properly. Of course if, like in the Wigmore, there is a lot of marble on the wall, or maybe a lot of glass, then this could make the sound much worse, but I doubt...

Same here, though I have once been asked for my permission. I've had some nice interactions selling stuff on ebay, though even nicer using audio-markt.de, where there are pretty much only enthusiasts and shops.
