Anyone know anything about the Audion Stirling Stereo anniversary el64 hard wired integrated amp?

https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2015/12/05/review-audion-super-sterling-120-stereo-amplifier/?amp Not sure if you saw this review for KT120 model as used with Tannoy. Audion has been on my bucket list for years but no distributor in Canada. I'd expect the KT88 model would be the sweet spot...

what was the last piece of hifi you bought

Apologies...I was very happy with them and they upscale like crazy. I had initially just used a Schiit headphone amplifier as a preamp but later used a modded Grounded Grid tube preamp and was floored how great they sounded. The gent I purchased them from had the same experience and he was in...

    Jordan Marlow Owner Impressions

I was hoping to hear from owners or any others who may be familiar with the sound of the Marlow single driver stand mounts. They have been on my radar for sometime but are very rare in my area. I have a 7W Sparkler Audio Ether that I'd wanted to pair with. I don't currently maintain an...

    Which cable configuration is ‘shotgun’?

Not sure if this helps: https://nordost.com/blog/how-to-make-the-most-out-of-your-bi-wired-loudspeakers/ My Jadis amplifier allows for 4 seperate runs of cable from the amplifier to each speaker connector. I thought this was what was meant as a shotgun cable arrangement but appears I maybe (...

    Croft RIAA Phono Preamp.

    Croft Chassis Screws

Yes I'll measure them. Thanks again Vinny and will try the phono as you've suggested. I was very excited to get this piece as very rare in these parts.

    Croft Chassis Screws

You are correct Vinny it is one of the small black screws which holds the case together and was removed to view tubes. It is the hex (philips) head of the screw that has been stripped not the female section. It is likley a latter Croft model (SN7162).

    Croft Chassis Screws

Hope this is right spot for this topic. I purchased a used Croft RIAA Phono preamp which arrived today. One of the chassis Philips screw heads was stripped. It was put in finger tight so could be readily removed but would like to source replacements. Could anyone confirm the size of these...

    What's your WTF hifi moment

A freind who likes trying inexpensive amps put me onto a Fosi Audio TDA7498E a Class D unit the size of a deck of cards. Max power from this chip amp is reported as 160W. Well expected it to be in system a few minutes before being yanked...but instead it has been in constant duty for the...

    Naim Nait 50

My decision was largley sentimental. Had a 1986 Nait 1 purchased as a demo till early stages of pandemic when I sold it on. The Nait 1 was my gateway drug into this hobby and what more fitting way to downsize and simplify. I also wish it cost less and as noted by others haven't yet heard it...

what was the last piece of hifi you bought

While cleaning and cataloguing my vinyl to sell I realize I couldn't do it. The final nail was moved on a half dozen Warren Zevon discs and came to my senses ( sort of) and decided to get another turntable. Picked up a previously loved Rega RP3 and now hunting for a phono section. This is...

    Naim Nait 50

I think it is brilliant! Can't imagine the boardroom meetings about bringing this design back but glad the purists stayed the course and left well enough alone. The light I'd change as noted by others but the headphone input will make it highly marketable to the 30 somethings. Have you seen...

To have one amplifier or several

I owned the Model A initially which was my introduction to Audial. If you find one... grab it! One of the best amplifiers I've owned. Foolishly I sold it as was a single input and thought I needed more. Couldn't give it away which was the real irony as the guy who purchased it was as blown...

    Audio Research in Recievership

The first piece of ARC gear I heard was at an acquaintances who was running an SP11 with a Krell amp and Mirage M3i speakers. I was totally smitten and got a demo pairing of ARC SP9 and Classic 30. Had it for probably 8 years and no issues although the sound of an SP9 was light years from the...
