How smart is it for the designer of the unit to advocate (on a public forum) a use-case that goes against the item description (DAC, HP-amp, pre-amp) and seems to void your warranty?

I mean, that's fine and good. I was more alluding to the dealer/importer/manufacturer getting the right to cancel the review or demand a re-write of stuff they don't agree with (that aren't factual errors).
Was an external phono-stage used for both? I'm asking because the 1500C has an in-built MM RIAA that is decent but can be bettered.
But other than that there's probably not a lot in it between the GR, Mk7 and 100C/1500C models.
Also hard to say when you were comparing 2 different transducers...

I now wonder whether most big review sites show their reviews to the sample supplier before going live and posting?
Some sound demo comparisons here. If you have a way of listening via good headphones (you don't want 2x room sound). Dirac is used for room EQ in these I think. And yes, YT listening is no way like a proper demo (obviously) but you can still make out the differences in tonal presentation...
By the way - your current Neat + KC62 combo (had that sub too with a pair of LS50WII) seems very sweet? Seems many suggestions here will be a lateral move to something different rather than decidedly "better" - assuming your current setup works well in the room?
Only listened very briefly in a hifi-shop here in Denmark so my impressions won't be worth much. They just popped up in my mind after seeing your room dimensions. Do a bit of reading yourself and see if a dealer is nearby. They won't have that pin-point imaging that many of us associate with...
Some off-kilter designs that are meant to be bang up against the wall (on the long wall) are swedish Larsen loudspeakers (continuing the defunct Sonab ideas). Not a speaker that measures well in any sense or sounds like most hi-fi speakers but perhaps worth a look in this small-ish rectangular...
