I've a CD with the corrected speed but am not sure I have anywhere near close enough pitch (or general hearing) to be able to tell the difference.
Is there a corrected vinyl edition?
Thelonious Monk, Genius of Modern Music Vol. 1 ( Vinyl - BN Classic edition)
I'm very much hoping Vol 2 will appear before the BN classics series wraps up.
Herbie Hancock, Speak Like A Child ( CD - part of the BN 5 Original Albums box set) I'm trying to convince myself the CD is easily good enough and that I don't need the BN classic that is out tomorrow.
Shabaka, Perceive it's Beauty, Acknowledge its Grace (Streaming via Qobuz)
I wasn't sure about this when I first dipped in but am finding myself coming back for further listens.
I've tried to watch the film 3-4 times, hoping to find it is a neglected masterpiece but each time have had to accept it is really quite poor.

I've been reading Philip Watson's rather excellent bio of Frisell over the past few days. The hardback is currently half price -

and using Qobuz to follow the music. I'd not heard many of...
Initially it's very funny but, as an ex Media Studies teacher, I do find it increasingly odd that we accept the authenticity of these clips. They are, in the main, performances designed to be shared and provoke a reaction. It's always worth asking some "who" and "why" questions. Who filmed...
