Amp with good MM phono stage - £600 max

If you really want to reduce box count the Yamaha RN803D has a very competent MM phono stage and they turn up on the Bay for about your max price. I have to disclose that I own one and it is excellent, though I do not currently use the phono stage due to absence of turntable. Here's a thread...

Blu Ray player in quality HiFi system?

I used a Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD as a CD player substitute many moons ago, and it was excellent, I then moved on to streaming and the player is now just on AV duties.

Anyone ‘downsized’ to a Super Integrated?

I downsized some year ago to a Yamaha RN803D from UK made Audiolab pre and power. I love it, it drives my Spendor D7s very well, and as an aside also managed some Magneplanars which I had on dem.

Highly reviewed gear that was a big let down for you?

My worst buy was a pair of Mission 770 Freedom speakers, early 80s I think - so bright they made my ears bleed, I gave them to a nephew A Hadcock unipivot arm, it was OK but I found it a bit of a faff and eventually replaced it with a Rega arm, unfortunately the Hadcock somehow got skipped when...

Change audio format to stereo Apple TV - better for 2 channel?

Dolby digital in most forms is lossy, only Dolby true HD is lossless.

Disagree, what sometimes makes this place uninviting is the increasing amount of unscientific nonsense. It sometimes makes me want to weep.

    advice on cheap speakers

Some seem to like them, depends on the exact model I think, I had some 770 freedoms back in the day and they were so bright they made my ears bleed.

Help/advice needed: amplifier for Spendor D7

I am very happy with my 1 box solution the Yamaha R-N803D which I have owned for 4 years. Drives the Spendor D7 speakers very well in a large room and sounds great. I haven't tried the phono stage as I am now all digital but I believe it does have a Tape out, control is via an app but comes with...

    Integrated amplifiers with built-in streamer.

The Yamaha is an amazing piece of kit, mine drives a pair of Spendor D7s and together they perform wonderfully.

Best S/H Integrated Amp for under £200

Another vote for the Audiolab 8000A. Sound is neutral, a good thing imho . Proper tape monitoring stuff if I recall, I never used this though. And if you decide to join the vinyl hair shirt community, or indeed if you already have, it has an excellent phono stage switchable for MM or MC. Good luck.
