Forgot to mention for these tests I was testing the LF and HF separately just to see what was going on. But you have just reminded me about the phase canceling between the LF and HF when playing together. I will do a few measurements with everything together.

So the red one is as you suggest is harsh when the energy is up but sounds to my ears nice/correct when i turn the energy down. The grey one just sounds a bit fizzy toppy in comparison and almost a bit phasey sounding.

HF is 10ohm (aluminium/grey) and 9.5ohm (copper/red) LF is 5.3ohm and 5.3ohm

Ok that’s good news! It was myself that recapped them and also new resistors. They match the schematic I found online and I have the original parts still. I’ve tested them with my frequency analyser and they both look like they are outputting correctly.
