I think most modern cd players utilise the buffer method, especially if using off the shelf dvd/cd rom drives. They often spin the disc faster than the original red book standard and the data is fed into a small ram/buffer before the dac.

The website gives some specs etc, I’m guessing the batteries are the good cells from bad packs? It will have to pass safety standards in order to be sold in the first place. I like the recycled plastic looks.

Thought this was all just a bit tongue in cheek, but if the “audiophile” fuses sold by that company are indeed just Bussmann (allegedly) that means my hifi and kettle and most of the plugs in my house have audiophile fuses in them.

I can recommend Bussmann fuses, they cost a couple of pounds for a bag. My personal fuse budget has been spent on cds, vinyl and the occasional festival weekender tickets.
