    Isobarik Xover Project

I like the wooden bar to support the extra connectors - I will be pinching this idea for when I add some connectors to mine. But - what on earth is going on with the wiring in that photo?

    Linn Aktiv Isobarik Circuit Diagram?

If you can lay your hands on another amp, you can give each bass unit a separate amp circuit. This makes a really big difference. I plan to eventually have a separate amp circuit for each driver (ie 6 stereo amps in total). As each amp circuit only sees a single speaker unit, they have very...

New PCB for shoebox size NAC preamp part V

Hmmm - in that case something may well be wrong - it definitely shouldnt clip a normal line level signal. Pete's measurements may well point us in the right direction.

New PCB for shoebox size NAC preamp part V

Hi Pete, It may be that the densen is a bit hot, or maybe something is out of whack on your fish. We shall see. I have some good ideas for the new snert, some tested some only theoretical at the mo - but as ever life got in the way. I'm now moving house - big demander of time - good news...

New PCB for shoebox size NAC preamp part V

Hi Pete, I'm not sure if you have a problem or not - It rather depends on what you are putting in. The starfish has a reasonable overload margin but it isnt infinite. Could you measure what is going in? Once we have some voltage readings we can see if there is a problem. Your mention...

    Starfish measurements

Oh - I see you are back from your self imposed exile and sticking the oar in again. Just for reference: The design does not have "obvious limiting in the HF region". If Jon's preamp exhibits such traits, then he built it wrong. Jim.

    Starfish measurements

Jon, Check the caps in the filter section for the HF filtering bit - there was a mistake on a (very) early bom. I dont have the details to hand right now (half of my house is currently in storage) but from memory it was a 100pf in parallel with a 22pf cap - the mistaken bom listed 220pf...
