I’d take a trip to Sevenoaks or Richer Sounds for a fuss-free and warrantied hi-fi shopping experience. Sevenoaks have £310 off the Marantz cd and amp combo. So that’s £800 (alternately thry have a NAD cd player and amp for less than £600). Just add speakers and a turntable. Q Acoustics 3050i...
I was in Kuala Lumpur a few years ago and Ms Jezzer’s friend had a Suzuki Swift sport which she drove like a maniac (when it’s not stationary in KL traffic). It’s certainly a nippy car!
There’s no accounting for taste. I’d take the unique and funky interior of the MINI over the bland infinitely replicable interior of the Suzuki Swift.
Car price inflation is insane. I can’t remember how much I paid for my JCW but it was nowhere near £40k!
Ugh! They’re all electric now too. No more John Cooper Works version unless you go for the Countryman. Here’s my JCW from 12 years ago(!). It was a hoot to drive!
Was in Barcelona for 4 days last week. One night we ended up in a cocktail bar called Paradiso. It’s ranked as the 4th best bar in the world. The cocktails on offer are certainly very imaginative!
The Reacher series (2 seasons) on Amazon Prime is pretty good. Can’t remember the name of the actor who plays Reacher but he has a formidable physique.
Just finished Fallout which was nicely entertaining. I have a minor awareness of the games which helps. Non-gamers may find it a bit odd in places. Good fun though and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The Hollywood adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s ‘Breakfast of Champions’ starring Bruce Willis and Albert Finney. An unbelievably poor rendition of one of my favourite books. The way Finney plays Kilgore Trout just doesn’t make any sense to me. He’s nothing like the character in the book...
I had planned on going to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Had booked hotels and flights then Covid happened! I’m thinking of going either later this year or this time next year.
