You'll be on your own in Diggle, this event has been moved to Courchevel as far as I'm aware. Unless he's putting on a minibus to get you there ?

You'd better pack your skis if you want to get into that party , unless he was just trying to put me off going :o

    New Naim S1 pre/power

Is it merely a coincidence that this thing costs as much as a base model Continental ?

    ZU audio

The easiest way would be to go and listen to the different characters. Both are a means to an end, it depends on what you really cherish or crave the most. I think another way to try and clarify it would to be for you to try and give a little more idea as to how you would prefer the end result...

The omen def is a good loudspeaker, but then again that would depend on the point of view you have regarding whether you favour dynamics and shove, or if you are more looking at tone and solidity (timbre). You can't have both, no matter what people will tell you, so you have to decide what is...

I think I'd blame that on the amp more than the speakers. I've yet to be convinced by using Naim amps on Zu speakers. Maybe the speakers were showing up the character of the amp.

The first question has to be what type of amps do you use or intend to use, solid state or valves ?

New product on the way from NAIM

The market is still there at the core price points Naim used to target, but you have to hit it with products that excel and outperform the others in that bracket. Unfortunately for Naim, in the last few years they have been undermined by products at half the price or less of their premium...

    Serious demonstration question

Chris, I never claimed to have Golden Ears, or a perfectly audible memory . But , if something has a typical sound signature ( or should have ) then it should be able to be recognised. If something is getting in the way some how, and it's audible, and it matters to you, then it's an issue...

    Serious demonstration question

No It doesn't, it simply means that you are uncomfortable in believing the opinion of the manufacturer and his findings regading his product,, An opinion to which you are perfectly entitled, but a belief that is formed without actually trying and listening to yourself. I have and I've...

    Serious demonstration question

Quite simple really, like utter garbage. That's a bit like you being asked to give an opinion on a piece of kit with a fault on it without having a unit to compare it to. You are either capable of determinig if something is working correctly or not given your experience with a unit that is...

    Serious demonstration question

Of No not at all. I've heared systems that have not been moved, changed or manipulated in any way other than to be used totally transform over the course of a couple of months. Not even in my house or my system either. So habitiuation does not even enter into it. If you genuinely do not...
