Jeff Buckley - Grace. Forthcoming Sony vinyl reissue

Ouch! Can you claim damages? Surely a pressing so bad it wrecked two cartridges must be worth a serious complaint........ :( martin

Jeff Buckley - Grace. Forthcoming Sony vinyl reissue

Hi The Diverse Vinyl website shows that Sony will be reissuing Grace on 180g vinyl at the end of March. I wonder if it's likely to be better than my (rather disappointing) Simply Vinyl copy? Anyone heard any of the recent Sony vinyl reissues? Cheers Martin

    Lenco GL75 - potential überdeck?

A squint at TonyL's Lenco thread prompted me to trawl the web re my GL75. Well, who'd have thought - apparently it has great potential and with a bit of work (heavy plinth, better arm) can sound very good. I'd never have guessed. My question is, how good? Some of the Lencoheads on the web...

    Lenco L70 project

Fascinating thread. I have a mint GL75 motor unit which I picked up for £5 in a charity shop a few years ago. It had never been out of its box. I needed to replace the rubber bearings as some oil had leaked onto to them and they had perished. I remember speaking to Technical and General (who...

    Britannia Music club in administration....

Well, it seems the end has come for Britannia Music. Their website has been down for ages now, with a notice saying it'll be back up in September.... Their phone number now has a recorded message saying they are in administration. Shame - I've had some amazing classical bargains from them...

    New Daintees album

Great news, and another excuse to play Gladsome, Humour and Blue when I get home. I picked up a Stephenson CD called 'High Bells Ring Thin'(?) not long ago. Haven't played it yet, so might put that on first. Would love to see him play live. Martin

    Look what I found!

Oooh, this thread had me running to my racks to dig out my only Mercury Living Presence LP. It's a copy of Bizet's Carmen Suite conducted by Paray. The Label on mine is slightly different - plum coloured, but the number (MG50135A/B) appears just above the crest at the bottom of the label. Also...

Leak Delta Turntable (Lenco L75) - Arm query

Simon I had a Lenco - the bearings are little rubber blocks which are easily replaced. I got mine from Technical and General for a few quid. they can be found here: PO Box 53, Crowborough, Sussex TN 6 2BY, UK Tel. +44 (0) 1892 654534 Give them a call, they know a lot about lencos and keep...

Most Overrated album of all time????

Yes, Trout Mask Replica. Seems to have appeared on every critic's 'best ever' list. It's a conspiracy, I'm sure. Steely Dan - Take your pick. Each album a finely crafted, highly polished, soulless, cocktail bar turd. I know there will be howls of anguish from the fans, but Steely Dan really...

    RIP George Hadcock

Sad news. There are few of his breed left now. I wonder what this will mean for the company - wasn't he a 'one man band'? I suppose this means the Hadcock arm I have (with half the bits missing) will have to stay in the spares box forever now.... Martin

    carol kidd, linn records equivalent

I once saw Jon Strong live in Ashford (gig organised by the local Linn dealer). He was good - got signed copy of his LP to show for it. I seem to recall that the gig was very poorly attended and that the man himself was somewhat cynical about his label ('glad to see so many of you dragged...
