I have to comment positively here - Ian helped me tremendously to help me correctly wire the balanced DIN plugs for the 101b to 105s which was totally opposite to what I had set up for RCA connections. Now the 101b/105 is just awesome, balance, highly detailed and NOT aggressive at all.
The...
Hi Gez
I totally agree, listening this afternoon the bass level is not booming and being too over the top (too much bass) but realistically, and as you are indicating, the subwoofer is seems to be balancing the overall output. It seems that where the B&W602.5 seemed bright and aggressive before...
Hi Kevin
Plugs have just arrived. This may seem stupid but I must ask, did you solder the individual subwoofer cable lead to the Mundorf smaller barrel on each of those plugs? I must admit that the plugs were expensive delivery wise but I've got them now.
Best Regards
Rob
I have to add a new comment here. I've now set my B&W602.5 S3 with a recommended subwoofer, MJ Acoustic Pro 50mk2. My system now sounds like I have new speakers all round, the subwoofer (not pushed hard/loud) really balances the sound of the B&W's so I cant fault them now albeit that this is...
Ok, connected up following the MJ acoustic manual - I just don't know what to say but WOW!!
Its know like I have a completely new system. I've only tried a couple of tracks (Telegraph Road - Dire Straights and I'm One - The Who (Quadrophenia), but they sound absolutely terrific now and so well...
I have to say that following the MJ Acoustics Pro 50Mk2 Users Manual, it indicates "Caution, when using the Neutrik Speakon cable, connect the RED wire to the positive terminal of the LEFT main speaker and the YELLOW wire to the positive terminal of the RIGHT main speaker. The BLACK wire to...
Thanks all
The info you have supplied has helped greatly and I will now try this out and get back to you with results. I'm starting with the A19 amp as its already connected up as per normal.
This is the rear of the Arcam A19 - I assume the using a Speakon cable (as per REL and also MJ Acoustic) then its a red (right), yellow (left) to the red speak connections and the black cable lead connected to ground. Is it safe to do this?
The rear of one of the 105 mono amp block has jack...
Hi All
I'm completely stuck at the moment as I have purchased a used MJ acoustic Pro 50 with a hi iinput speakon cable lead (one contact left/right and one negative lead output - 3 connections in total). How to I connect/wire this to an older stereo amp i.e. Meridian 105 mono amps or my other...
I've now bought a MJ Acoustic Pro 50 Mk2 for £85. Can any one help, with simple diagrams if possible. the best way for me to set this up with the mono amps and speakers and what cables/connection I will need?
I gave this a lot of thought and decided it would be far easier (and cost effective...
I have been in contact with Ian (I believe it is the right Ian) who has given me terrific info how to wire the DIN cable and these are completely different to what I have (I am amazed).
I have also checked the 101b input module (see internal pics)

I bought the 101b and 105s separately. You raised a question I cannot answer at this stage - what the output module is? I'll have to undo the casing and look. Many thanks for raising this.
