I would guess if the dac is only used for music and one input then it would not matter a lot, but I sometimes time watch music on YouTube or someone on YouTube is recommending some good tunes, then it is nice to be able to use a remote, I never understood why people would be so reluctant to use...

Sorry, but then your imagination is sorely lacking, I use my remote with Primare Dac30 dac to change between the tv and music system, very convenient.

That’s good to hear, not easy waiting for ones equipment to arrive😉 I have been very interested in the s5, but I wished it had a remote and a standby function, as I often use my dac for YouTube music videos. I also by far prefer the black version.

An M1or2 is not a regular pc, and we tend to forget that any dedicated streamer is pc too. Also it only can be used for that.

Good tips here, also remember that the balance signal normally is louder than the unbalanced ones and therefore can be perceived to sound better. Also very few cd players/dac’s, pre amps and power amps are 100% balanced.

Moonriver I am told was developed using BBC speakers. The Reference should drive the 5/9 in a small to medium room without any problem. The Norma is a beautiful looking amp, was very interested in it for my 5/9 but ended up with class A and tube pre.
