Not sure everyone would agree with that sweeping statement. John Darko doesn't for a start Also see his comparison of the SBT with the WiiM devices everyone is raving about - pretty interesting IMHO. And various comparisons between LMS and Roon (I know which I prefer). I have two SBTs on the go...

I know that this can be done (although never tried) but IMHO it's not very elegant as a permanent solution. I do have some "aesthetic considerations" to - well - consider as well . . .

Looking for any suggestions for a small-ish pair of powered / active speakers for use in our kitchen whilst I'm "creating". :-) I'm a big fan of LMS and Squeezeboxen for years and currently using a Squeezebox Radio in the kitchen but would like to upgrade for better / fuller sound. Also a fan...

No longer have mine but I don't recollect it ever giving me a problem . . . I also had the little TP20 Mk2 which was fun!

You can still get the Topping TP60 on the second-hand market - 80W (-ish) / channel; linear PSU; 2 inputs; battleship build.

Devialet D200 with that lovely remote.

Alternatively - some would say just get some Klipsch speakers from their Heritage range (Heresy, Forte etc.) and then any old flea-powered amp and you are seriously ready to rock!

I feel the same way about my Squeezebox Radios. In the kitchen whilst preparing some sort of extravaganza to Morrissey Mullen (my go to cooking music) or on the roof terrace at sunset playing Down To The Bone's "From Manhattan to Staten" with a large glass of fine Portuguese wine gets me...

Never got on with the Duet but I did like it's remote - the Controller - and used one for a while until iOS and Android apps took over and it was just one more thing cluttering up the living space. Not sure I'd ever call it a "high end transport" - not even as good as SBT.

Just to add my 5 cents - I've been an SB user since day 2 (SB2) and been through SLIMP3, SB2, SB3 and SBT, all with stock PSUs. I used to run SBT - DACMagic - Naim 52/SC/135 but now run my main SBT coax into Devialet D200 (internal DAC) and it sounds great. I have an SBT into AudioEngine A5...

Might consider white but didn’t they suffer from plastic degradation(sticky rubber)? I’ll maybe take a look again. Haven't had any problems with my two SB Radios in that respect. It's my SB Boom that suffered the dreaded sticky rubber syndrome.
