On the off chance that Rega fan-boi-ism continues, really encourage you to try the previous gen Elex-R if you can.

I bought a Brio-R at the time it was the darling of the hi-fi press and really liked it. I sort of liked the warm-running thing, made it seem a more 'serious' amp :rolleyes: Not sure why I moved it on actually, I think I was entering my Naim Uniti phase and sold off my separates. Reliability...

Have to agree with this. Blu Wav from Grandaddy (Jason Lytle) is an astonishing album but being a massive fan of his work, I would say that. Just so happens it is though. It's been on heavy rotation since release 👏

Been using a Rega Apollo-R for a couple of years now, cracking machine. Prefer it's more 'industrial' styling to the facelifted Apollo. Very reasonable cost on the used market too.

I owned some X2s for a short time a couple of years ago. On the end of a Naim Uniti Atom, they weren't at their best. Swapped the Uniti for an Exposure 3010S2D, massively better all round, probably as to be expected but a demonstration of how the X2 performs with a bit of grunt driving them...

I'd be looking for a used Exposure 3010S2D integrated, better looking than the replacement 3510 (also in budget) IMO.

I have a nice Rotel RCD-955AX with the good old TDA1541A available, Cheshire based.

Read all the glowing reviews of the A85 but just quite stretch to it. Then the A80 was released and I pounced on it. As I said the user interface was really slick but the disappointment in the sound…..Aw maaann 🙄

And the Sea Dweller as well. Only because Rolex have the hardware to do the WR test to 1220m plus. I solve this with mine by having my guy service and WR test to 400m. Which is plenty.....

I used to have an A80. Paid £600 new for it, lovely to use. Sounded awful.

With my past players and my ND5XS2, the WiFi was pretty reliable, the occasional drop out but I expected that. After we changed our internet provider last year I did have problems though and this was with a new modem that was in the same room as the player which I found very irritating...

This thread probably needs moving to the Audio discussion but until that happens.... I'm a quite long-time user of Naim's streaming players in one form or another and really like what they do and the supporting app is one of the best out there IMO. All of the players you mention above are now...
