Kind of the opposite of Japanese clinical efficiency, but I have a lovely Sugden SDT-1 made by some nice folks in Yorkshire. It's listed on Art of Sound and FB Marketplace, but it won't let me link it here.
Parcelforce are consistently the worst courier company out there. If you want some amusement, look at the comments to every post they put on their Facebook site. I once sent a centre speaker in it's original packaging (expanded foam inner in very sturdy box). They dropped it so hard, the magnet...
The Shure one is good for light tracking cartridges (like Shures) but it's not as easy to see the exact balance point if you have to use the x2 scale (anything above 1.5g) since there is very little movement.

I don't sell much on ebay these days due to the fees. I also opted out as when I have used it for selling, I can get my buy it now price within this country which takes much of the risk out of it.
A brief resurrection to close this off and say that the advice on sub sonic filtering was spot on.
I've just acquired a Denon PMA-850 which has a subsonic filter built in. Switch it on and the problem is gone. Not a bad phono stage either.
