Cost is so relative. Say £1k on a used Chord DAC that keeps its value well and has good UK-based customer support makes more sense to me than (say) £500 on a Chinese one that's never going to keep value so well, and potentially end up a door stop is customer support is ever needed in the event...

Qutest will make a big uplift over the Node DAC (have had both). At least different to the Rega. Worth trying that and others if possible.

Rega, or Chord Mojo. Both rounded, 'un-digital' sounding, fatigue-free DACs IMO. Chord with a bit more upper sparkle and inner detail.
