[WTD] Standmount or small floorstanders speakers

I have a pair of Technics SB-C700 in basically perfect condition, boxed etc., that I have no use for, having gone down the active route. https://www.stereophile.com/content/technics-premium-class-sb-c700-loudspeaker

The John Westlake/Lakewest MDAC/FDAC, VFET and Detox

If no-one is willing to have a public confrontation or pursue legal action, might I suggest at least a publicity drive? A concerted effort to post succinct statements of the situation (e.g. 'John Westlake has taken Ā£x in crowdfunding for xyz, and produced nothing in almost ten years; see this...

[IC] Gibson Les Paul Standard 2007

Ā£1500ā€“Ā£1700 seems to be the going rate for a standard these days, but the neck repair will devalue it significantly, as TonyL states. Personally, I'd suggest following his advice but start the bidding at Ā£1k.

Isn't that where one of the Pro-ject factories is based?

    Room correction

Also bear in mind that you don't need a specific /specialist piece of hardware for DSP. You could just use a raspberry pi, although you'd need something to convert any analogue signals to digital and back again.

Active hi-fi speakers vs active studio monitors for Linn Akurate DSM

Or just buy something neutral and with low distortion and then use an equaliser to change the tonality to suit your room and/or taste.

    Gapless playback?

This sounds likely. Gapless should sound just like playing a CD. I suspect that the confusion as to what gapless entails might be because it's so common these days that some might not have experienced the annoying, fraction of a second delay that would be evident on a DAP made 10-15 years ago...

Active hi-fi speakers vs active studio monitors for Linn Akurate DSM

Yes and no. You don't have to buy the expensive foo peripherals if you have a multi-box system.

Active hi-fi speakers vs active studio monitors for Linn Akurate DSM

Mine are the standard model, so no built in DAC. No sub either, and I actually use the EQ switches to attenuate the bass because I find it overwhelming otherwise, which I suspect is due to room modes. I wouldn't worry about a lack of bass, and you could always add a sub later if necessary.

Active hi-fi speakers vs active studio monitors for Linn Akurate DSM

Another vote for the KH310's. Extremely happy with my pair, I was looking for accuracy and they deliver. Also bear in mind that they have a built in EQ, albeit a rather crude one, so some tailoring of the FR is possible.

    CDP/Streamer - One box solution

What about getting a CD player with USB DAC input and using a Raspberry Pi, hidden round the back, for streaming/network/Bluetooth?

    Earbud recommendation please

+1 for a pair of Etymotics. Note that different sized tips are available, and there are options other than Etymotic's own. I use small sized Shure olives with my ER4SE's and find that they give excellent isolation and comfort. Their newer models offer detachable (and therefore, replaceable)...

Chinese DACs - Topping, SMSL, Aune

Agree with those objecting to the Keith bashing. As a businessman, first and foremost he has to stock what his customers want to buy, otherwise he won't be in business much longer. That doesnt automatically mean that he can't express a personal opinion.

    Schiit stack has arrived

The "quality" of the reviews tends to be correlated with the objective performance of the equipment. Some of Schiit's earlier designs performed very poorly (and in at least one case, were electrically dangerous), but despite much whinging and trying to discredit the reviews, they ended up...
