Yes, that was my first test and how I found that it was the cable rather than the other components- when swapped the other speak exhibited the same crackle.

There is a De Vere 504 Cathomag for sale for 750. From a little research it seems to be a diffuser head using a mercury filled tube. Is this the kind of thing I should avoid? I’ve got my eyes peeled for a Durst as well.

Keeping it simple tonight, scouse for us. It’s still bubbling away but I’ll post a pic later if I think on.
