    [FS] Teddy Pardo System

Great to deal with Gethyn - a true gentleman and highly recommended to buy from. There'll be a delay of a few weeks before I get to try the PR1/MB100s, but I'm very much looking forward to it. Someone grab that other pair of MB100s quick!

    Audio Technica OC9 or AT33?

I'm one. The AT33SA is a classic for its price (although I wish it was a bit cheaper).

    Whisky II

Deanston 12 is more than ok! Wonderful rough and complex sweetness.

    Whisky II

For a cheap Islay, I'd recommend Finlaggan, though it is still above your £30 mark. Not so long ago it was about £30, but edging up now. If you want a classic mix of fire, salt, and sweet, then Talisker 10 was occasionally reduced to £26 at Sainsburys, but Diageo's reign of terror seems to...

Have dacs changed so much in 10 years.

Great quote tuga, thanks. This provides a nicely detailed explanation as to why my Audio Synthesis DAX Discrete is still, to my ears, the b*llocks.

[FS] VPI Prime Signature turntable and arm, mint, £3300

Superb. Looks like an endgame turntable.

    Advice on Harbeth speakers placement

The OP has clearly been abducted by aliens that were hiding in the microwave to the right of the picture. But the microwave was at least a clue to what he needs, because I couldn't help noticing it looks like a big American valve power amp (very like a VTL). So forget the graphs. What the OP...

    Advice on Harbeth speakers placement

In what way are you dissatisfied? I'm not sure this has been established so whilst, yes, the picture does suggest a very hard and live acoustic environment, proper advice can't be given unless you've identified what the problem is at the point of entry (into your ears).

    MC Cartridge advice please

How bizarre! I wonder if it's a misprint on UK websites? It seems crazy to advertise the phone stage as anything other than 100Ohm if it is, when that's what most people are looking for. I can't agree with you about disregarding the difference between 50 and 100, but I'm a bit of a loading...

    MC Cartridge advice please

Looks like your Yamaha amp's MC stage is set for loading at 50 Ohms. That is very surprising for an integrated amp - they'r almost always set at 100 - and quite limits your cartridge choice, but I would think Ortofon Cadenzas would be a good choice.

    Digital Music Library Options

Thanks, though I don't think I'd have to re-rip my CDs. I've got various folders with all my lossless music stored, so I think if I go back to iTunes/Music I woudl just wipre and re-import. It's all a bit complicated though because I've got several macs and on my laptop I have a different iTunes...

    Digital Music Library Options

Seconding what was said above, this is a great post and very helpful. I'm definitely going to have a go with LMS. I think first of all I might be better getting rid of my 2012 iMac, since it has an old hard drive that makes it very slow. I can pick up something like a 2015 model with an SSD for...

    Digital Music Library Options

Ok, great, thanks. Now I start to see the potential. It sounds like this will take a bit of research and work so I may leave it until the weekend, but I'm very keen to set this up. It will be really good if I can integrate Qobuz streaming and a library within the same 'skin'.

    Digital Music Library Options

Regarding LMS: apologies, am I missing something simple here? I thought LMS was to use with a streamer, not as a native music library on a Mac. I have followed Zombie's link and downloaded that, but I'm not getting a music library app I can use with my computer as source (from what I can see.)

    Digital Music Library Options

The thing is - I want to see lots of albums on the screen - as a library - and apps like Pine or LMS don't seem to do that. I've just seen that I can disable Apple Music in iTunes, so it may be that my easiest option is to just carry on using iTunes, wipe my library and load it in again, and...
