The 2M2 resistors in the RIAA network should be changed to 1M if they aren't already. This was a factory mod during production. It makes quite a difference to the bass response which otherwise is indeed light.

Majestic Transformers UK also have or will make one for this application. Slightly smaller than the Hammond, too.

It seems that a Hammond 261GE6 fits the bill. Just about the right size to fit into the power cage too. I'll be attempting this in a couple of weeks.
