    [WTD] SME M2-9R

one from the " outside chance I'd consider a different arm " . I have a Jelco TK950S ( S shaped detachable headshell with knife edge bearings ) along with a silver Ammonite armboard to suit a 1200G . If it is of any interest let me know .

    Which headshell?

This is what you want , adjustable everything and available in different weights . https://www.audio-technica.com/en-gb/cartridges/styli-accessories/cartridge-accessories/at-lh11h

Cartridge Output Voltage vs. Phono Input Sensitivity Variance Tolerance

Don't forget about loading , the standard DL103 has unique requirements . It's internal resistance of 40ohms means it likes to see about a 400 ohm load .

    Any love for MX5ā€™s?

Lovely cars , I had an "RF" for three years and would have bought another if I didn't need "practicality" at the time . They are just so nicely balanced . Quick enough for the real world and once you get used to the body roll they handle well . But most of all they are fun , you always feel as...

Worth moving from MC to MM to cheaply change phono styli more frequently?

This has turned into internet folklore and it's just not true . I have several carts varying from conical to micro line to shibata , they all set up the same . Surely when using a protractor to align / set up a cart the stylus is either on the mark or not regardless of its stylus profile .

Technics and a new tonearm - The next chapter ?

I can vouch for the technics / Jelco combination . I have a TK950S with an Ammonite arm board . Not only does it sound good but it looks right too .

Alternative phono stage for Rega P8 with Ania Pro MC (not Aria Mk3 or Graham Slee Reflex C)

It was the "two.2 discrete" . However I believe low noise is common amongst all Whest stages .

Alternative phono stage for Rega P8 with Ania Pro MC (not Aria Mk3 or Graham Slee Reflex C)

I've been a phono stage roundabout recently . And whilst I can't make a recommendation based on your table and cart , I can say the quietest stage I had here was a Whest , it is truly silent no matter what the gain setting .

    HOMC vs LOMC

It's not as clear cut as that . Yes , LOMC has a lower moving mass but the extra amplification needed to boost it upto line level creates more distortion/noise . You can use SUT's but they are not perfect , but that's a whole different discussion . I'm not saying HOMC's are better than LOMC's...

    HOMC vs LOMC

I didn't think we were discussing the prices of carts . But to go along with it some HOMC can be expensive too .

    HOMC vs LOMC

Almost , a Benz Micro Ace SH and a Benz wood SL . They are the same cart in different bodies . When I had the both my phono stage was MM and fixed at 47k ohms , I used a SUT with the low out put moving coil . I found the Wood SL to be smother and more organic but the Ace was dynamic and...

    M M cartridge recommendation

Be mindful of mass , the magnesium arm is very light . Much lighter than the 12g that gets banded about . I have an AT VM750S on mine (with a heavier headshell) and I'm very happy with it.

    [WTD] Phono stage .

Thank you for your offer but I'm no longer looking . All sorted now šŸ˜Š .

    [WTD] Phono stage .

    You have mail .

    [WTD] Phono stage .

Thanks but it's not really what I'm looking for. I really want to be able to adjust capacitance on mm carts , it's also a touch hot at 43 dB .
