    UV Window Treatment advice please

I did that in the early 80s, fabric cost was horrific. I was therefore a bit dubious about having this one refurbed but had a few trips round the usual suppliers and found nothing i wanted. Had a close look at one of this company's jobs and it looked good so i've booked in a big four seater...

    Air Fryer

It's a "Tower 5 in 1 Digital Air Fryer Oven", obvs trying to get plenty of key words in the name. Only 10" wide so the Christmas turkey won't fit in there. A poussin could be ideal for a trial run.

One of our sofas is good and solid so we've booked in a recover / reupholster. Very wide choice of fabrics, went with some people called Plumbs iirc.

    Air Fryer

Thanks for the feedback! Just seen in the book that it should have a spit as well; i'll see if the original owner has it and maybe try a guinea fowl in there. The concept of an oven with smaller surface area for heat loss sounds sensible. Sausage and chips in the rolling basket could be a...

    Air Fryer

Anyone still using an air fryer? We've just rehomed a Tower air fryer to try out the concept; it cooks reasonably well but does chuck out a lot of heated air compared to our conventional oven. I know it's only 2kW as opposed to the 2.5kW of the conventional cooker but it does appear to be...

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

There will always be some with elephantine memories, unfortunately more every time a family loses a member to conflict. In UK aren't we still feeling the effects of the Irish conflict in 1641(?) ?

Today I have mainly been v3

Hot and cold, wet and windy with thunder here in Essex; glad i refurbed and test ran the barbie at the weekend. Just losing the pervasive garlic aroma from veggie kebabs. Knackered a knee yesterday so slow day in the office today with lots of drugs.

    Killing field day this Saturday

It would be interesting to see some proof of the horses being upset by others being shot. I went round a venison farm a few years ago and the chosen method of stress free slaughter was to feed the deer next to the house and when required the owner shot a few from an upstairs window, rifle was...

    Tesco

T They are very clever with cash flow, when the customer buys product they pay immediately but as suppliers we get paid at 90 or 60 days. We've now paid for most of the big growing costs for this year's potatoes and onions but still haven't been paid for some of last year's potatoes. TBF...

    Opening bottles of Port.

I only open it when there's two of us to share. If the cork's weak i use a screw with a wide open middle and make sure it's through most of the cork. The cheap screws with a solid middle can pull out of the cork if tight. My aunt was into gadgets and had a CO2 injecting opener; worked well...

Have to get my OH controlling a Firestick this weekend, all part of the plan to keep her as up to date as poss. Otherwise by the time i die i suspect she'll know every episode of Judge Judy from memory.

    Black Tie Wedding

Probably just convenience but one of my ex wives still uses my name even though she's been remarried for ten years; doesn't seem quite right and i wonder how her current husband feels.

    Tesco

Agree, it's a big business, also profit doesn't always mean a big heap of cash somewhere. They play a big part in making your food dirt cheap, £2-67 per kg for fresh chicken, £0-69 for a head of celery, £6-00 per kg for pork loin. Ridiculously cheap food on the back of all of us up the line...

    Black Tie Wedding

Hasn't changed much around here apart from the fact that the landed gentry don't bother any more. Polo's a big thing, one GP i know well has 9 ponies ready to roll this year.

    Best hearing aids for HiFi

Has anyone tried Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus? OH struggles occasionally and they look ideal at £579. I know a lot of people who aren't very happy with their conventional hearing aids.
