    Obsession to the nth degree

This. I’m hoping the commentators here labelling him a ‘nice guy’ maybe didn’t read the full article. The author clearly portrays him as a deluded phychological monster.

Some comments here on page 1 and page 2 about the 1324 being a tad smoother than the 1318. https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/optical-fibre-cable-for-finisar-ftlf1324.32166/

    Munich show 2023

The sound filled the room in that Boenicke signature style, but it was even more extreme in that the large room seemed to be completely washed with music, with no identifiable source, yet still layered within the huge width and depth.

    Munich show 2023

Yes that was the main use. Maybe also for personal microphone amplification for speaking to large crowds? Not sure if that is right.

    Munich show 2023

Fave rooms for me: - Boenicke - sounding sublime as ever with the new W22 - CAD/Trilogy - brilliant sounding room with CAD front end and grounding playing through Trilogy tube/solid state pre then power into Wilson Benesch speakers. - the bonkers ESD acoustic room with a barrage of horns and...

A review of 15 high-end speakers on home demo, inc B&W, Boenicke, Magico, ProAc, Sonus Faber& Wilson

770mm tall is the correct height of the W8. I have not heard the PMC Twenty.26 so I can’t compare. My room has a problem with bass nodes at 45Hz and 90Khz and the W8 didn’t trigger this boom; and as I said in the review, I sort of missed that big cabinet feel in weighty rock or large scale...

A review of 15 high-end speakers on home demo, inc B&W, Boenicke, Magico, ProAc, Sonus Faber& Wilson

I appreciate your kind words. I wrote this review some time ago now. In the meantime I have expanded my Boenicke universe: I needed some additional small speakers for a smaller desk-based studio monitor system and compared the Kef LS50 to the Boenicke W5. It was no contest. Obviously there is...

    Opinions on B&W 804s

I have 804D, the iteration from around 10 years ago. I ran them with a Naim CDS3/550/250 configuration for many years and also a CDX2/82/180 set up. They were a perfect match for both systems. The benefits are: - a detailed yet non-fatiguing sound, - a crisp top end, but not one that glares. I...

    Amir vs Danny

I know nothing about Danny not his speakers. I just meant ASR are an odd bunch of acolytes.

Does a smart meter affect Hi-Fi sound?

Not usually. But I don’t keep my mobile on me unless I go out. Why?

Does a smart meter affect Hi-Fi sound?

I think that I have heard somewhere that smart meters can affect the sound. I have a dedicated mains spur for the Hi-Fi and I find that a lot to do with the house electricity does affect the sound (for example those tp-link WiFi plugs which distribute WiFi around your house via your mains...
