Events in Hong Kong turning ugly

I dont think China is in much of a hurry to do anything drastic. The longer this goes on the less support the anarchists have from HK's inhabitants and the world. China will get it's way.

The Tory leadership race- that’s quite a bestiary there.

No. It has been seriously dented by polititans across the house over the last three years! Sorry to say but you (we, country) are a joke now. The EU will fall apart even if Britain had not voted the way they did.

I am not after 'compliments'. I want this country to have respect internationally, to prosper and to offer an even better future to its citizens and the many that have and will come here to contribute. I want the UK to be a haven for business and if it's another Luxembourg so be it! All...

You need to start to believe in yourself rather than being someone's b***. The UK should demand everything and more. This is the beginning. Not the End. Just a question of who in the EU is the first. Still, I prefer a 'deal' as long as it strongly favours the UK.

So, the UK is held ransome by terrorists.

Everything that we currently have including full access to European markets plus end of free movement either way, the right to strike trade deals with whomever we want internationally on our terms, an end to the EU Central Court over riding UK courts, an end to the EU fisheries policy. I am...

Deal but to do so 'no deal' has to be a real and present option. I would have been happy with May's deal but as the house has elected to reject it no deal is the obvious option unless there is a willingness to compromise on the EU side.

    Trains

A great example of what a train journey should be like. Makes the average UK railway journey experience look positively basic.

    The Children Poll

I would never want any of my own but have had the pleasure of working with autistic children and young adults. Nice handing them over at the the end of a shift though.

    The Children Poll

Somewhat related ...my dog walk often takes me past a small person school, the kind for the age when they probably stopped constantly leaking but are still insanely noisy. - During the last school break I noticed a specialist Tarmac firm and Tree Surgeons. Did'nt think much of it. - I just...

A thread to catalogue the eloquence, dignity, diplomacy and wisdom of Boris Johnson

He certainly wasn't my first choice and neither was Hunt but rest assured the the world will continue revolving, the sun will still rise and the lefties will still cry like babies.

That's why Hunt made it to the first Husting. Came over as weak. Softly spoken, quiet, I just can not imagine how he will keep his party in line. He'll be over run in no time. They would have to turn the mic above the despatch box up markedly so that anyone can actually hear him, including...
