    Naim SBL

Holy thread resurrection, Batman! The grown-up version of kids' 'slime' is probably something close to Museum Gel: https://www.preservationequipment.com/Catalogue/Display-Products/Display-Identification/Museum-Gel-P085-3311 It basically behaves as a thixotropic 'plastic liquid' which can be...

suggestions for Viscoelastics for CLD isolation stand

A quick read of its properties suggests this might be idea to use as the sealant for SBLs… any thoughts?

What's the deal with these SBL tweeters?

How can you tell Hornslet cabinets from other (older?) ones, and what are the proposed advantages?

What's the deal with these SBL tweeters?

They are indeed Hiquphon OW3-92 tweeters, but no mention of crossover tweaks.

What's the deal with these SBL tweeters?

I've asked if any crossover compensation has been done, but it's presumably not that hard a job…

What's the deal with these SBL tweeters?

Are these official late-period SBL tweeters, or has someone replaced them at some point? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265631462129?mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5338728743&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

    Linn LP12 45rpm pulley ?

The motor isn't in the right position, I once tried to adjust mine, got it wrong, and then had this symptom. Your dealer should be able to sort it out, but will probably fleece you for a new motor in the process…

5V Linear PS for "Higher Current" Devices

It seems a logical approach if one is being objectivist, particularly if you're after minimising PSU induced noise and distortion… but arguably objectivism will only get you so far.

5V Linear PS for "Higher Current" Devices

BD's approach is discussed in the above linked AMP-01 article: "With no mains entering AMP—01, the whole enclosure can be tied to signal ground without fear of loops, which bodes well for RF screening and HF grounding behaviour". From what I've re-skimmed - it's been years since I read it...

5V Linear PS for "Higher Current" Devices

I would suggest that a good read on this subject is the first part of Ben Duncan's AMP-01 constructional series, which covers the power supply design and methodology. As well as making sure that the PSU itself doesn't chuck cr@p back onto the mains, the approach is that each op-amp has its own...
