wonder what flavour of Selekt you are buying?.. i owned an Akurate DS/Katalyst and considered buying Selekt. ended up purchasing a KDS3/Katalyst and upgrading with Organik plus Utopik. the end result is amazing!.

Linn have recently launched their in - house designed DAC chip called Organik. i upgraded my Linn Klimax DS streamer from Katalyst dac to their new Organik FPGA dac chip. it's not cheap , but the performance is outstanding.

i' have owned Linn equipment for over 30 years i.e. my Linto mc preamp , LP12 and my Akurate C4200 amplifier is still going strong since it was new years ago. i'm sure i am not unusual in never having had any faults with my Linn equipment.

here i use an Asustor Lockerstor Nas. got all my music/video library stored which is easily accessed via my ethernet network.

Sold my Ikemi over 15 years ago to try this streaming malarkey, lovely cd spinner it was too. present day streaming is via Linn Klimax DS updated to latest spec. either listening to my own library via Nas or Qobuz the end result is very satisfying to me. my LP12 is available for spinning the...

that's the main reason/route i took when changing my Akurate DS over to Klimax DS. Got my KDS/Katalyst then purchased the Organik upgrade. Recently installed the new power supply (Utopik). Now i have a fab streamer at a fraction of the NGDSM's £35k :)

my last cart trade in was Dynavector DV17D2 to DVXX2MK2. Saved quite a bit on the price of the new cart.

Sounds like a nice one box solution from Linn, their DSM lineup would reduce your box count. here i run the Klimax DS which doesn't include a preamp.

I must be in the small 5% portion then, my Linn Klimax DS streaming device thrives on decent quality audio!. I stream from my Asustor Nas and from a Sublime Qobuz subscription.

we once had a real howler here that destroyed our greenhouse. Met Office corroborated our situation for the insurance claim.... it was 90 mph in the back garden !. Linn HQ is just over a field from here.
