The TDK AD tapes were also good but the SA was the sweet spot. I used the SA-Xs, MA and MA-Xs but they were overpriced. The bog standard TDK D was a fine cassette mechanism but for lo-fo or no-fi sounds. I latterly had a Yamaha KX-580 with auto bias - fantastic quality!

Great speakers. I had to ditch my 2912s for active ATC 50s at twice the price. My cats thought they were scratch posts. The ATC are not as good, in my mind, as the Quads.

ATCs come with a 6 year warranty and is transferable. Not sure if that was applicable to you at the time.

I'd doubt the Orbe SE would damage any furniture but would look rather nice on most stuff especially Parker Knoll.

That's a dB meter so no, it's to hot - but 25 centigrade in Scotland is nice! Active ATC 50s on IsoAcoustic feet. Not sure if the IsoAcoustic feet benefit much - I think they do slightly - I just can't stand the idea of of the large flat contact area of the speakers.

Always wanted an Ittok/Troika from my youth. Had to settle for an Audio Origami PU7 as Ittoks in good condition are getting hard to find. I'm told the PU7 beats the Ittok but just doesn't look the same. GLWS
