Hi-Fi Racks are no longer in business by the looks of it

Oh, man - I'm in the US and their racks are basically unobtanium here; no real US distribution that I know of, and shipping made them prohibitively expensive. I've seen one or two in the wild and they were absolutely beautiful. I really hoped I'd be able to have one someday. Perhaps that makes...

Has anyone bought a product because of a recommendation on ASR?

I'd say "useful" might be overstating it but such descriptive terms do seem to convey "something" about the sound - however, your pushback on my assertion illustrates the/an issue, which is that everything is wide open to interpretation, and my "effortlessness" might not be YOUR "effortlessness"...

Has anyone bought a product because of a recommendation on ASR?

The "how do I think this sounds" measurement is the most important. Measurements are not going to convey how something will sound to you, in your space, with your music. To me, ASR is an absolute joke. Reviews can be helpful - can be - when someone is using words to try to describe things like...

    Audiophile songs you're sick of

Same, I don't know anyone who actually listens to her. If you told me she was a hifi industry plant I would have no trouble believing you. Where my Krall-heads at?

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

I would love to see how those wages are spread out over staff tiers - my guess would be with Naim there's a lot more money going to managers and much less proportionately going to the people who actually build the products.

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

I got an Aethos a few months back, replacing a Cursa/Exons setup. As good as the Aethos is, trying to control the volume from the remote is at least as bad…it’s shocking how useless it is - the slightest touch sends the volume up to stratospheric levels. You can sort of get around the problem by...

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

This warmed my cold, dead heart a little bit. Thank you for sharing a great story.

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

Rega was the first "real" hifi gear I heard, so outside of a few short-lived dalliances, I've just always had Rega gear. I do wonder sometimes if there's something out there I'd like more, but...I like Rega very much, I'm very happy when I listen to my setup, Rega's support has been excellent...

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

I'm trying to imagine feeling like it's important that I come into a topic that doesn't interest me to tell people that it doesn't interest me.

    New Rega Speakers - Aya

Well, that's definitely one approach to auditioning speakers.

I’d much, much rather have the 4AD. :)

Palmer, though - wow. Fantastic performance. He could turn into an amazing player.

What's the best in ear wireless?

Seconded on the Momentum 3 - I bought a set of these to replace some WH1000-MX3s that I killed by working out, and while they were meant as a means to an end, they've become a favorite way to listen to music. Excellent.

    RIP Kirsty

Not only a ridiculously talented angel of a person, but she died an absolute heroine, pushing one of her children out of the way of the marauding speedboat. There are very few like her.

Your best original vinyl finds 2023

Grass is always greener, etc. I'd have a much easier time completing my 4AD or Sarah collections in the UK. Shipping is prohibitive at this point, too.
