Thanks to all who put the effort in to post replies. I'll send the player back for eval and possible replacement. Just played the latest Roxy Music box set and a couple of discs froze several times each during playback--very frustrating on a deck that is so good in other respects.

Hello All, I have a new Rega Apollo-R/DAC combo and absolutely love the sound. I do, however, have an issue with several of my CDs "freezing" while playing. The disc is going along nicely and all of a sudden the player will stop momentarily and then continue along through the rest of the CD...

I can second this pairing--the Chord Prodac is excellent with the Apollo-R/DAC combo.

Absolutely. The Hegel is a superb choice if you can dig one up in the UK. We sell them here in the States and find they're an honest and excellent value in their respective price ranges.
