Manticore Mantra Mk2 (electronic) running slow

"Fired it up (no belt) could see pulley oscillating but did break free and start running after 1 or 2 seconds" Careful of that screw at the bottom of the motor! It adjusts the motor bearing, it sounds like you now have this too tight. Slacken off a quarter turn at a time until the oscillation...

    Who knew?

Seconded. When there we used to offer veggie options but not vegan. There are some others but few and far between. You should try some of the specialty cuisine restaurants, Indian, Thai etc. depending on your exact location. Many of these are known for veggie dishes within their normal array of...

Manticore Mantra Mk2 (electronic) running slow

Before changing the belt did you give the pully and inner platter a good clean. If no, do so along with the new belt. Check the ride height of the belt on the pully, should be horizontally central, not riding low or high. While there, check the pully is firmly attached to the motor spindle and...

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MY DEALER AND ATC

I'm sure things have changed since my factory visit, just 26/27 years ago as a dealer. The fact that we never once needed customer service from ATC speaks volumes IMHO. We never had a faulty or blemished product either. Then to hear of this level of service can only underline a deep respect for...

    Who knew?

^^^^^^ I am one of those that donates my would be share for your delight. I'm really not a shell fish fan at all. The only ones that get through are prawns, lobster and crab, the rest are either a no no for me or suffer from my total indifference. Now fish, oh yeah!

    Coloured equipment ?

I rather liked the look of John Shearne equipment in the marbled blue front panels.

Car buying; does anyone enjoy it?

It's been a while but I rather enjoyed the buying new process. Last one was a Fiesta that I thoroughly enjoyed. The process on that one was a bit of cheat as the sales manager is a close friend and it was the fourth car members of the family had purchased from him. Many years ago, back in the...

PFM Help Sought: Choose my son's final eight...

12, 10, 9, 6, 5. Couldn't choose after that but to my wonky eye the above are in their own league.

    Thai grub

If you're in Guildford Surrey, the Rum Wong was always top notch ( knowledge very old though as I've been out of the UK for eons now ). In Eastleigh there was another but I can't remember the name, Google reveals several that aren't ringing any bells for me. Went to many in and around London but...

    Thai grub

Dishes of the same name can vary considerably across Thailand. Further south often means sweeter, deeper into Isaan usually means blow-your-brains-out-spicy. Nam Tok nua (beef) Laab (usually chicken or pork) or raw beef...my fave! Nam Prik Pow ( sweet and spicy chilli in oil curry, particularly...

    E.L.P. vs. Yes. Who's the best ?

Both bands had exceptionally talented members. The main difference for me was Yes were completely focused on producing works for others to enjoy. Whereas, ELP were far more self indulgent. At the top of their game both were excellent but Yes were at that point more than ELP.

    Three Phono stages for sale

Damn, beat me to it. I was going to suggest a tin of caviar, to make it sound egg-cellent.

007 Board Game cheap, today Mar 31 only!

Don't know why but it reminds of the boardgame Escape From Colditz... I remember my dad being strangely excellent at playing the German role, hmmmmm. Did anyone play the Monopoly alternative "Hotels"?

    Table manners

Everyone is brought up differently and with varying norms being acceptable. I also find eating open mouthed unattractive but wouldn't say anything or show disapproval unless it was my own family.

    [WTD] Jamo Concert 11 speakers

Used to sell both when they were current models The 8s are well balanced and entertaining speakers that were priced competitively. The 11s lost most of this, being poor value and uninvolving.
