If the Majik PSU was the culprit, it does make you wonder how many more might be like this. Bit worrying for potential customers.

Well the Vertere looks like an impressive bit of kit, I doubt you'll be disappointed with it. But you could also try a different cartridge, the OC9 was not a cartridge I particularly warmed to when I had one, it's an incredible tracker and very detailed, have you thought about trying one of the...

Guttenberg did say that the SME still sounded better overall against the 1200G but found the experience of using it, swapping out cartridges so easily plus the sound quality was more than good enough so he switched to the 1210G as liked it in black.

Lots of good turntables out there ,everyone has a preference.
