    Further to my earlier post, I can confirm that XBMC is not bit perfect under any circumstances. The whole audio path in XBMC is unsuitable for reference quality lossless playback.

    It can play the files mate, but the question is, what is it outputting? I just tried playing a 24/96 file through XBMC installed on my ATV, and yes indeed, it plays. But my DAC shows "44.1" whilst it's playing. The DAC doesn't display the word length so I don't know whether it's 24 bit or 16...
