    Any Parker 51 owners?

Don't think any pen however nice would improve my dreadful writing. It has been described as a "hen's scratins in the midden". I used to use a Parker fountain pen back in the day but to be honest I don't write enough by hand these days be worthwhile using one.

    Radio 3 recent changes.

I'm still adjusting to the new morning schedule. The previous changeover from Breakfast to Essential Classics at 9.00am was a good cue to get going in the morning if I already done so. The new 9.30am start is still catching me out.

    Streaming: Qobuz, DLNA, UPnP etc

I've just run the cloudfare speed test twice. Had "bad, bad, poor" and "bad, bad, bad" with latency at 23ms on 40+ Mbps. I'm still on copper and am about 0.5 miles from the exchange. I haven't really had any real issues with drop outs even 192/24 feeds. Currently watching BBCs Mammals on UHD...

Hi-Fi Racks are no longer in business by the looks of it

May be some, but it seems a lot was bespoke and to order.

    Car remapping

There was a lad running down round town yesterday with a car mapped to pop and bang. The sound was carrying a long way across town. I don't understand why they do it other than to attract attention. Before long he'll attract the attention of Police Scotland. He also had weird number plates of...

The Photography Purchase Confessional Thread (GAS)

@Hazelberry I'm leaning more towards Manual with back button focus certainly for static subjects but miss the simple intuitive ring and needle.

The Photography Purchase Confessional Thread (GAS)

@Whaleblue I had the AT-1 (my first proper camera, later supplemented by a F1n. I still miss the directness of the photographic process of a fully manual camera. Sold all my Canon 35mm gear through Ffordes funding my move into M43 gear.

    The Shingles Vaccine(s)

My experience was that the fatigue came on a couple of days after the vaccination. On the day other than the expected post jab pain at the injection site there was no reaction.

Suitable Drive Surface - Block, Resin, Cobbles or.......

Even then it needs to laid on proper base and depending on the soil conditions a stabilising fabric may be needed. Appropriate drainage has to be planned with falls and cambers so that water doesn't settle.

Suitable Drive Surface - Block, Resin, Cobbles or.......

Whatever you choose the key to getting a good lifespan is preparation. I put down some lockblock at our last house. It was just a small area at the front door to create a transition from the extensive gravel drive and some where better to sit in the sun. I did my research and decided as it...

    The Shingles Vaccine(s)

The current programme is that you can get it in the year following your 65th or 70th birthday. Previously it was only after your 70th birthday. They have also added the immunocompromised over 50 to the eligible list, meaning I got mine 3 years earlier. I assume that production capacity and...

Today I have mainly been v3

Had the electrician in today. Extra sockets have been put in to allow me rearrange the layout in the living room. Until now I have been sitting in front of the left speaker and the Saras weren't in the ideal location anyway. Listening to The Planets enjoying the ambience I've missed for a while...

    The Shingles Vaccine(s)

I had my two doses of Shingrix in January and March. I did feel quite tired for a while afterwards probably not helped by me having to miss some of my arthritis medication to ensure that the vaccine had the best chance to work. From what I have heard about shingles it was worth the period of...
