The Good Guys: Seller Feedback (Part V)

Thanks also to Gerlando. We’ve dealt before and it was great. This time equally fab, we did a part ex deal, so we both got something to play with. A great guy to deal with.

JVC AX-Z1010TN - Review (part II)

They are so good, there seems to be a temptation for people to grab more than one. You don’t see many people selling them on either.

JVC AX-Z1010TN - Review (part II)

Mine still sounds stupendously wonderful. Can’t see me ever selling it. Soooo.... I’m thinking of it’s long term health and performance. I don’t use the phono stage or DAC. I can solder but have no tech knowledge. However I do live quite near Jez so a post-COVID service is possible. Just...

JVC AX-Z1010TN - Review (part II)

Still feeling the love for my JVC. It’s making stupendous music with my Reference 3a MM De Capo i. I have other great amps including a Sonneteer Orton, but I’m just enjoying the JVC’s music making. The bass it delivers is perfect. Reminds me of my former KSA50. It’s becoming the best bargain...

    System Pics 2020

Hi, sorry for the late reply. They are Spica TC60s. I was a TC50 user for a long time but these beat them. I have also had the Angelus. Not sure whether the TC60 would win out over them.

Hi the veneer is Zebrano Negro and it’s real, not Formica. I did it myself as they were originally oak and a bit tired-looking, Here’s a better look at the veneer taken when I was doing the refurb. I used a fabric dye that you spray on to colour the felts black, it worked very well but a...

    System Pics 2020

I’ve been into hifi since ore-teens so that’s over 40 years. My most influential years were the mid to late 80s into the early 90s, which were a golden era for hifi. I’ve been a habitual box swapper for many years but lately I’ve settled down to enjoy a mostly Sonneteer-based system. I just love...

    Neat Petite Mk. III

Still have a pair of Petite 3. I love them. They have a vivacity about them that doesn’t ever take them into hardness or stridency. They are really capable in hifi terms, but their musicality and fun factor are the things that shine through for me. I can’t see me ever selling mine.

JVC AX-Z1010TN - Review (part II)

Yes, I agree. It has subtleties that you really appreciate when you go back to other kit.

JVC AX-Z1010TN - Review (part II)

A late bump to this thread. I’m now enjoying an AX-Z1010tn too. I honestly didn’t expect these to be any good, and I’d planned to listen and then move on. That didn’t exactly go to plan. I love what the amp does and I’m delighted to reduce the box count by removing a separate phono stage and...

Listener fatigue prevalent in headphones is it the same as with speakers?

I like Omni and semi omni speakers, or even heavily sloped baffles, because they are less fatiguing and create a greater sense of space, a bit like the Headspace. I’d say anything that affects perception of directionality could be beneficial in terms of reducing fatigue,

Can you make headphones sound like real loudspeakers? We're giving it a go

Got my Headspace and I’m pretty happy with what it does. I need a better source than my iPad and better cans than SR80s but within these constraints it does add space.
