    Sad songs

you beat me to it...many of Gram's own songs also qualify but Emmylou's poignant reaction to losing him is up there with the best

Old gear that you’ve plugged back in that’s surprisingly good

Recently got back a pair of Castle Knight 2 speakers that had been out on a long term loan. Decided to have a listen on the end of a Quad Vena 2 in a small room second system. VERY pleasantly surprised how lovely they sounded, especially on acoustic music and jazz. Not the last word in dynamics...

Amp for KEF LS50's? No Digital inputs.

As a darko audio review suggests a Rotel ra10 is a surprisingly good match. I did have this going for a while as alternative to a Rega Elex r with the LS50s which did not gel for me !

Another "Help me decide which speakers to buy that I can't demo" thread...

Another N Ireland barren land here so I appreciate your difficulties! Just to say I owned a pair of Vienna Acoustics Hayden Grand for a while. Probably as smooth a treble as I have had in any system. Only down side was I felt they lacked a wee bit of life elsewhere but always a very pleasant listen.
