For the time being, we are still using the internal combustion engine. But it's virtually unrecognisable compared to early versions because of technological improvements along the way.

No idea, I just googled for some pics. More horn pics here. They do look quite a laugh. http://www.goodsoundclub.com/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PageIndex=1&postID=4125#4125

Ah, OK Tony. I thought you were talking about the modern confections. We've missed a trick in this thread, hardly any pictures of outrageous horns.

I'm not sure I'd infer that you 'need to spend £250k' to get a good sound from horns. You're just putting a spin on the info to suit your own argument. An, IMHO equally valid, alternative inference could be that if you are in the market for a £250k pair of loudspeakers, then horns are going to...

Clearly, you are trolling. ATCs are not "an old design".

What are you talking about? The story behind my ATCs is that I bought a s/h pair from JW over a decade ago. He had been recommended them by James Henriot, funnily enough. This is how knowledge works - it's passed from person to person. Several visitors to my house have subsequently bought ATCs...

I've obviously heard horn loudspeakers, equally obviously not all of them. As S-Man points out, there can be a "The train arriving at platform 3 is..." effect. I don't need to taste a poo sandwich to know I won't enjoy it.
