I, for one, have (quietly and drunkenly) benefited a lot from Marchbanks' wine preference and suggestions shared - especially Ernest Burn and Jean Paul Brun - firm favourites in the household now.
Thanks..
I am in a potential Catch 22 situation where I have quite a large collection of French and Italian wines In Bond with FRW (Fine & Rare Wines) at their London bonded warehouse, whereas I am now in Germany myself and will be for the foreseeable future.
Anyone has any clue of a way to get...
Avoid power line extenders like the plague if you have even the slightest interference - it only gets worse and more inpredictable. Mesh extenders are far better and more mature now and the best option - worth the price
I live in the Rheinau park next to the Rhine a beautiful, genteel and safe place...every year there is a bit of flooding and you see a bit of branches and normal stuff as flotsam and jetsam - on my morning run today, I saw peoples belongings and bits of furniture being swept along.
A few people on higher ground have unfortunately also been badly affected - huge landslides due to the torrential rain. I don't think the future will be someone else's problem - we will all be directly affected in some way or the other within our lifetimes. If its not floods it will be something...
Unfortunately yes. More and more bad news coming in...sveral colleagues lost their cars - washed away. And two has their houses collapsed with all furniture washed away
I live in Bonn - not as badly affected as a few Km South - so got away with a flooded basement and lost a few things including a tube amp and a turntable.
Friends and colleagues have lost entire houses and in a sad case, aged neighbours. Flooding is common here but this level of flash floods...
Really disappointed to see this, especially having bought from your shop in the past as well.
I appreciate your expertise, but taking this tone on a subjective topic, especially as a dealer is very very patronising and not doing you any favours
Its fantastic and reminds me a lot of Hancock's 'Maiden Voyage' title track from the Music Matters remaster - both in terms of musical feel and mastering
Unfortunately, I remain deeply unimpressed by German reds - even the premium Pinot Noirs are average at best
Difficult to justify paying anything 'premium' for a German red, when surrounded by great value Tuscan, Piemont, Bordeaux and Rhone reds...
Haven't seen Fritz Haag in UK shops yet, but a few other options on Vivino shipping within UK...prices are noticeably higher than in Germany but still well worth a try
The entry level Fritz Haag Riesling also there - not as good as the Brauneberger' but still a delicious crisp and balanced wine...
