    Creek Destiny amplifier issues

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions. I tested for DC between the output inductor and 0V on the both channels and there's around 12mV for anywhere between 30 seconds to 3 minutes when initially working. DC then rises (drops?) from 12mV on the Right channel to around -900mV over...

    Creek Destiny amplifier issues

Thank you for your replies. The amp fails with various speakers and cables connected, although it doesn't require any speakers/cables/source connected or any particular input selected to enter protection mode, and the time it errors after power up varies. I thought it had fixed itself after...

    Creek Destiny amplifier issues

Hi, I have a Creek Destiny Amplifier which was working fine, but now a couple of minutes after powering up there's a relay switching sound and the speaker protection steps in, the speaker channel (A/B) and input selector LED's turn red and the amp becomes completely unresponsive leaving only the...

    Nac92/90.3 Service+

10 months have passed and all is now good with the 90/90.3 - fantastically musical for the outlay. Thanks to Misterc6 and PFMM Martin Clark at http://www.acoustica.org.uk PS. Hope it's okay to link to acoustica Tony?

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

Where I was at, but better said.

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

I presumed this was a cost exercise, hence the question - so yes, assuming it would already be disassembled to offset the labour. 'Test' for continuity, of a supplied potentiometer - not a big job. But it all depends on the amp/pot, as questioned just a couple of times.

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

It would help in helping to know what the pot is from the start - is it a 6/8 pin per chance? Part number? Shouldn't cost much to swap it over, 10 minutes at most - or do it yourself for the cost of a cheap 35w iron, a sucker and a short roll of solder [no need for anything special]

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

Not sure that's going to help the OP, but as a guess the reading isn't a linear curve? Just in case the like for like is the TKD (better to be had for similar money?).

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

I thought that too but it's still relative to the pot - soldered/flying leads, stepped/plastic etc?

How much should you pay for a volume pot replacement

There's a few variables in there (excuse the pun). Try posting the question in the 'diy' section with the amp/pot details - lots of knowledgeable chaps frequent that area. What's the fault BTW? Is it channel imbalance/scratchy, is it a a stepped attenuator - have you tried a quick spray of...

This is not supposed to happen

Couldn't you manually trip the lighting breaker for the room/floor as a way to rule switching RF out - assuming the audio equipment and lights are on a separate circuit? (which they should be). Leaving cross contamination on the supply to be diagnosed?

    Sennheiser HD 25

I've been using Sennheiser momentums straight from a iPhone 6/Spotify extreme for a while now for office duties (low leakage), then I came across a Sennheiser stand in Maplins today, gave all the displayed range a good go from the £45 20* up to the £280 NC's with the same iPhone 6, same track -...

    Stylish stand mount recommendations please?

Thanks for the suggestion of the Wilsons Nic P - very good looking speakers, however - I've snapped up some local replacements for the 805s. A little more than what I wanted to pay but they're... B&W 805s's. Better the devil you know, and I have spares incase the lab strikes again. Cheers folks.

    Stylish stand mount recommendations please?

Insurance never even crossed my mind but if I remember correctly - there's a 250 excess on contents. I've never claimed so I don't know how it all works, or if 'HiFi' is even covered.
