What concert have you last been to #3

Seen them a couple of times at the Academy, always a great atmosphere there!

What concert have you last been to #3

Skunk Anansie, Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone. Used to go here all the time when I lived closer, was so nice to be in and out of a gig in just minutes, none of the massive crowds and queuing of larger city venues. They're still one of my favourite live bands, Skin is just fiery but playful, Cass...

    No more Naim DR upgrades

Components shortages/lead times are such a huge issue for manufacturing presently, I think we'll see a lot of companies struggle, since they are faced with either no sales, or massive cashflow issues, holding stock. It's been going on for a couple of years now and doesn't seem to show much signs...

    Kate Bush documentary

Getting all sorts of old stuff in my feed recently and I quite enjoyed this, I can't get over the maturity and incredible work ethic Kate displays at such a young age. You can see why it was so long before she did more live work and why it was done as a residency. Such a phenomenally talented...

    Learn to solder with NASA

We train staff at work to IPC standards and you can see a lot of the content for those standards comes from industry input from sources like this. So many of the termination types are rarely used these days, but the underlying principles are always relevant.

    Right To Repair

Most electric toothbrushes are designed to enable battery removal for recycling. This often allows for repair. The Philips Sonicare ones can be opened without damage with a little care and batteries can be swapped. Not trivial but it is possible (and does require soldering). I've got one from...

    Right To Repair

https://www.facebook.com/SevenoaksRepairCafe/ It's part of a larger movement that started in Amsterdam and is growing worldwide: https://www.repaircafe.org/en/about/ I'm slightly nervous and genuinely excited by it!

Naim power amp wire - board terminals/connectors

Thanks for that, that corroborates what I found here too, that they're 22pF: https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/naps150-3-psu-board-in-nap140-pics.156423/ They're obviously just an additional RF ground. The NAP180 arrangement is odd, but given the length of the wiring of it's probably...

Naim power amp wire - board terminals/connectors

Interestingly this version makes it more obvious, the green wires (right hand side of board) are running through another component, wonder what value caps are used?

Naim power amp wire - board terminals/connectors

That might make more sense, for a company that focuses so closely on proper grounding, it did seem odd. Being a 110 my unit doesn't have the green wires at the input currently, so I'm unable to confirm, but I figure they were added for good reason by Naim. Might be one for some listening tests...

    Right To Repair

I've just discovered there's a Repair Cafe started up near me, so have volunteered my services, been looking for something like this to volunteer at, quite excited!

Naim power amp wire - board terminals/connectors

You are right, but that's not what I'm referring to. I'll try and annotate a photo to show, but on some 140's there's a thick green at the input, and the screen of the signal cable. At the other end of the screened cable (where it connects to the DIN socket) there's an additional thin green that...
