    NAP250 - The Mojo Mod

I have read with very much interest the mojo mod and I am really impressed. As the issue is to clean up the supply rail noise at mid/high frequencies why not using a low value plastic film cap in the 0'1 mF/1mF range? It would be faster and more efficient at high frequencies than a polarized...

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

Thank you Malcolm, I have read it the day before yesterday. I still have to make up my mind. What kind of a difference with the Avondale regulator for the Nap 250 please?

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

Thank you Malcolm, bias setting ok, new parts burning in, sounds fine. Please, as you have tested the Avondale ncc 200, ncc Kudos boards, did you ever test the new ncc 300? I have the TPR4 in my Hicap for my Nac 62 and sounds great and was thinking to upgrade my nap 250, any advice please? Maybe...

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

Please, setting the bias value at 7 mV cold, what bias reading should I measure when the amp is on for 1-2 hours? Thank you

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

I have a comunication from Naim to my dealer from 1989 that states: it is very important that these are checked when the amp is cold, i.e. has been switched off for at least 3 hours and left at room temperature. It will take about a minute after switch on for everything to settle down. Set the...

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

I even replaced the 47 mF caps and the zener diodes on the regulator board.

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

Yes, all caps replaced, even the 10 mF 63 volt (Vishay 105° C). If I set the bias at 7mV warm the voltage is stable, if I set the 7 mV with the amp cold the tension slowly rises over time (several hours). Am I missing something?

    Measuring bias voltage in NAPs

Hello Malcolm, hello all, I am new here, sorry if resurrecting this old bias discussion but I think I need some help with my Nap 250 cb. The amp is fully serviced and working fine. The voltage is set at -39,9 and +39,3, the bias at 7 mV. In the beginnig I set the bias at 7mV with the amp cold...

    Avondale TPR4 - Naim Hi-Cap upgrade

Just fitted last evening your TPR4 regulator in my Hicap cb (just serviced last month) and I must say that the improvement is well above what I expected changing a regulator!!!! 40 years in HI-FI and diy and this kit is one of the most fantastic mods I have ever experienced. The improvement is...
